Strategy Tips
TIP - Does the photographer give you unlimited time or
pictures?
Many photographers are now giving their clients the whole
proof album (a full compilation of the entire wedding photos
to include every picture), rather than requiring them to
return it. You should try to find someone who will let you
own all of your pictures. Without that ugly indicia
imprinted on the front of the picture that says Proof.
Please! That is so tacky. What is the photographer going
to do with 300 pictures of your wedding? They will likely
sit in his filing cabinet in the studio. Keep all of your
pictures, if at all possible.
TIP - Find out if your photographer will be charging by the
hour, by the picture, or by the package.
Some of the A-la-carte options are not always as enticing as
they seem. This is more of a mix and match package of the
things you want. However, keep in mind that with any
customization there are likely higher costs incurred because
the photographer is creating a specialty package just for
you.
This is an easy way to get nickeled and dimed to death by
the photographer. Define what is and is not included in
your package, even if the photographer is willing to accept
a lower payment or rate for your assignment.
With that in mind, there are things that can (and cannot) be
compromised. Lets talk about that next.
