Other than personal references, the Internet remains the most powerful and effective source of photography options. When you happen upon a particular photographers website that interests you, take time to really review the portfolio. You will get a sense of their style, from the artistic photojournalism to the more traditional poses and general family shots. Does the photographer offer a portfolio of a complete wedding or just a random mix of shots from different weddings? It is better to see the whole wedding. It will be the essence of what the photographer will capture while shooting your wedding.
