Ask the Freelancer...
1. Are you a full-time photographer?
2. What do you do the rest of the week?
3. What kind of experience, background, and education do you
have?
4. Have you received any formal classroom training as a
photographer?
5. Have you handled events of my type and size before?
6. What are the reasons you think we should hire you?
Whether you will meet with a big studio or a private
individual, first, find out the availability of the studio
to cover your wedding date. Find out how the photographer
feels about posed and candid pictures. This will help you
to determine if you agree with the studio's philosophy of
how the wedding photography should be conducted.
How does the photographer handle family pictures before or
after the ceremony? How early will he/she show up to begin
shooting? What percentage of your images will be off-the-
cuff, and how many will be posed?
