Backup Plans are a Must! Does Your Photographer Have a Backup Plan? Most photographers have more than one camera. This is a back-up plan in case of malfunction. Busted cameras cant be instantly fixed anymore, they must be sent away. Can you imagine if this happened right during the part that the minister says, You may kiss the bride. Now thats a moment that can never come back. Not having a working piece of equipment is definitely not something you want! Pros always have backups, with no exception. Amateurs do not always. This is how you will be able to tell the difference between the two. Digital CDs with photographs on them are not archival- quality, meaning they could be damaged through years of wear and weather. Discs get scratched or can malfunction. They could last two weeks or twenty + years. You should make sure that the photos your wedding photographer gives you are archival quality. This is true for the albums, also. As soon as the photographer gives you a CD, make yourself a backup copy that is kept in another safe place. You can also do this with the extra set of prints on archival paper by a reputable and true photo lab for reassurance.
