But, is Digital More Expensive? HINT - Pay for Lack of Experience, Subpar Quality or Hasty Service, and That is Exactly What You Will Get Indeed, digital can be more costly. Some digital photographers charge a premium over traditional film photographers because of the huge up-front equipment investment and the extraordinary technical skills needed to produce high quality imagery. There is more time involved in the actual finished product, whereas film is film. What goes in comes out. Editing takes time, which equals more cost. On the bright side, the images will be well worth it and more beautiful than old-school wedding pictures. Gone are the days where just having good composition skills and knowing the difference between f-stops and shutter speeds were good enough. The photographers of today must either completely relearn the art of digital photography themselves, or outsource the talents of others to get the job done. The good news with digital is that most couples will get a lot more shots with their wedding albums. More choices = More memories! Not only does digital effectively increase the number of shots, it increases the total number of usable shots. Unlike film photographers who have to stop and frequently reload, the digital photo artist never stops shooting.
