How Many Pictures Should I Expect? Well, Do You Want a Few, a Lot, or a Bucket load? It wouldnt be unreasonable to say you might capture anywhere between 300 800 or more photos from just one day, especially if the photographer works with an assistant. At least 350 will hold well on a single memory card. Thats the equivalent of nearly nine rolls of film, even at the highest quality settings. The batteries also last longer on the digital cameras, making them less of a hassle all the way around. A bonus of digital is the ability to convert color images to black and white. The photographer can shoot your whole wedding in color and effectively give you a separate stack of images that are transferred as black and whites, meaning you don't have to sacrifice any poses or shots. In the past, black and whites had to be photographed on a separate camera, meaning the photographer was going back and forth between cameras during the event, thus missing a few good moments.
