Is Your Photographer Offers Online Proofing!
With digital photography, you can share pictures with
friends and family online. Most true professional wedding
photographers offer the option of online proofing. In the
old days, it was next to impossible to share wedding proofs
with relatives unless everybody got together.
Some photographers even offer this service for free or as
part of a package, because they think about the increase in
profits by having guests and relatives able to look at and
order images without having to bother the bride and groom to
see their proof album. They can be viewed in any city,
state or country and shipped right away. Online proofing
certainly relieves some of the financial and organizational
burden of the bride and groom.
A digital camera instantly notifies a photographer of camera
malfunctions, whereas the film camera is at the mercy of the
photographers memory. There is many an urban legend (horror
story) of film photographers who shot an entire wedding
ceremony, only to discover that they forgot to load film
into the camera. Or the camera that ran out of film just
at the kiss or walking back up the aisle! Eeek! Talk about
sweating bullets.
Above all, the best part is the instant gratification. If
your photographer is cool enough, maybe he or she will let
you look at a couple of the pictures as you go. He will
know immediately if your eyes were closed or whether the
pose was flattering or not. He will remember when, who and
what was in each frame, because he can go back and refer to
it and look at it as many times as he wants. If there's
something that was missed, the shot can be redone before the
group is dispersed. How handy is that?!
All of that said, there are always a few cons with every
pro. The few shortcomings of digital, such as having an
improperly calibrated camera or a bad card can happen. Then
there are those three dirty words that no photographer wants
to see Image file corruption. Unfortunately, it happens
too often. don't let it be at your wedding.
