Each photographer uses his/her own techniques.
It is called the photographers eye. Some see moments as
they whiz by in documentary-style charm, while others prefer
staged settings. Others have both qualities and styles
together, which is ideal. The term photojournalism has
become overrated. It doesnt mean anything anymore, except
that it is now acceptable for wedding pictures to have an
artistic effect.
Photojournalism is a trendy phrase that appeals to brides.
Its not considered incorrect to have a crooked picture or a
close-up of the details, such as the bride and grooms feet,
rather than their hands. Rather than the typical deer in
the headlights stare at the camera, photographers can
maneuver the couple to look away from the camera or to look
more at each other throughout the posing. The images are
more interesting and creative.
Yet, the value and significance of traditional portraits
should not be overlooked. Formal portraiture has always been
prevalent among historical legends that have self-portraits
in the form of art. And for very good reason traditional
formal photos show the person or people in a sycophantic
(OK, flattering, I just had to use that word) standpoint.
Considering the preparative effort to become gorgeous on
your wedding day, it would be unwise not to include family
formals as an essential part of your wedding album. Think
about the cost and time to find a bridal gown, shoes,
undergarments, garter, jewelry, hair, makeup and flowers.
