Why is the Engagement Session So Worthwhile?
There are Numbers of Terrific Uses for the Photo Session Pre-
Wedding Day:
The possibilities are endless for the finished engagement
session. A few great ideas that I have collected for
possible engagement photo use are:
1. Make a big enlargement, like 11 x 14 or 16 x 20 and have
the photographer put it in a photo matte that is large
enough for the guests to sign at the reception. No one ever
looks at the guest guide again after the wedding is over.
Wouldnt it be much nicer to see a picture of the two of you
hanging on the wall, where everyone can enjoy it? People
can write fun messages to the newlyweds.

2. Also in lieu of a guest guide, I have seen a couple of
brides who bought a Polaroid camera and assigned two guests
to manage snapshots of people as they arrived at the church
or reception. The Polaroids were then instantly taped
inside of a decorated scrapguide and the people in the photo
were able to sign a message to the bride and groom
underneath a photo of them. This way, instead of just
seeing names of everyone who attended the bride and groom
will always be able to look back and remember what people
were wearing, etc.
3. The engagement session photos can also be used as cool
gift ideas for guests. Any number of possibilities, from
guidemarks, miniature frames, a photo/poem clip, mugs or
what-have-you can be made and given for your guests to
remember that day along with you. Rather than giving them
candy (which gets eaten), or silly trinkets like matchguides
(which get thrown away), the guests will get a picture of
your engagement photo. Indeed, a fun and unique concept!

Gift to Remember with Photos
4. Gifts to the parents the engagement session is a chance to
give something nice to your parents. Especially if they are helping
to financially support your special occasion, the nicely framed
photo will be a timeless keepsake for those folks who have raised
you to become who you are today.
