When to do the Engagement Shoot

How Soon Before The Wedding Should An Engagement Shoot Take Place?

Take Pictures While You Both Still Look Relaxed. Before the Wedding Jitters!

Try to plan the engagement shoot for at least six months prior to the wedding. If you do them early, you could even use those pictures on your wedding invitations, rather than just spending a ton of money on those frilly index cards with fancy font. Did you know that the invitations can be made with a photo of the two of you?

While this is not consistently traditional, sometimes the cost of printing is significantly less than those traditional wedding invitations that have been around for years.

Again, this will be a great keepsake for your guests. It will also pique the curiosity of those relatives and friends faraway, who have perhaps never met your significant other and will be curious as to what he/she looks like. There is a certain personal touch that sending a photo does. It is informal, yet pleasing to most people.

It is something they tend to save. If you're going to spend money on invitations anyway, then why not ensure that your money will be well-vested and saved by those whom you invite?

Another advantage to having the photo shoot early is to be prepared. Often times, couples who do an engagement shoot too close to the date of the wedding are left disappointed that there was not enough time to prepare them for use at the ceremony or reception. Preparation is what this is all about so guide early!
