Wedding Photography Checklist

The DJ is not the Only Wedding Vendor Who Takes Requests

I have had many strange requests from brides, and also many heart-warming requests. One that touched me personally was a bride who said that her grandmother, who was 89 years old, was just hanging on to life by a thread and that her last wish was to see her granddaughter walk down the aisle. Knowing this, I took many, many pictures of the grandmother, both candid and posed.

I wanted to make sure that the bride always had fond memories of that dying wish of grandma for her to be married. Those images will always be a treasure for her and I felt proud knowing I had something to contribute to the history of her family. It is important to tell your photographer of any such situations that might be special or important to you.

Make sure that you request multiple shots of any important moments - the cake cutting, the first dance, etc. - just in case a particular shot does not turn out. This is no time for screw-ups or indecision. Your photographer must be on the ball! You should get a sense of that when you listen to them talk about their experience and when they show you a sample album.
